**Who are we looking for?**

**The weigh scale operator **is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the weigh scale, entering appropriate data into computer and/or ensure proper data is populated within Weigh Station; generating scale transactions, collecting cash or processing debit/credit card transactions; interfacing with company personnel and with outside waste haulers; performing related duties as directed.

This position will be based in **St. Thomas, ON.**

**Working with an energetic and hard-working team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in**:

- Ensures all waste haulers, visitors and subcontractors comply with site regulations.
- Operates the Truck weigh scales using City provided software to gather data, issue transactions, collect fees from cash customers, processing charge transactions for City approved charge customers delivering solid nonhazardous waste materials
- Ensures proper validation of loads through CompuWeigh/Weigh Station
- Establishes identity of customer, gathers and enters information (i.e. material type, source/destination, gross/tare weights, payment type etc.), applicable to load
- Verifies transaction information, processes payments if applicable, which may include processing of debit/credit card payments and close out point-of
- sale terminal at the end of the day
- Generates all end of day reports for City Representatives daily auditing process
- Obtains signatures on printed/manual transaction slips from drivers and/or cardholders and issues paperwork back to hauler
- Balances and handles cash drawer on a daily basis
- Prepares daily, monthly, and annual reports as requested by Weigh Scale Manage
- Responds to in person and telephone enquiries and directs all inquires to the appropriate CRALOL or City representative
- Reports incidents to site management
- Opens and closes scale house and sets alarms and cleans weigh scale equipment as needed
- Maintains a clean, safe environment in the scale office
- Other duties as required
