Tulmar designs manufactures, and distributes engineered protective têxtiles, survivability and safety solutions for the Aerospace, Defense and Public Security industries.
Headquartered in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Tulmar operates a modern 60,000-square-foot facility with equipment ranging from computerized cutting tables, stitching machines R.F. (radio frequency) welding and heat sealing equipment to highly sophisticated testing and certification equipment including cold temperature test chambers, inertia reel testing equipment, and computerized measurement and test equipment for quality inspection.
We are currently looking for a **MRO Component Technician **to join a dynamic & close-knit team
Under the direction of the Repair and Overhaul Manager & MRO Team Lead, the MRO Component Technician is responsible for carrying out the recertification of airworthy products such as; life rafts, life preservers and aviation seatbelts. They will also assist in the recertification/ repair service of Tulmar products. This individual may be required to cross-train on alternate products to assist with production requirements at such time.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Perform inspections to ensure conformity with OEM manuals, technical drawings, specifications, and approved samples (MFR) and to determine the requirement for repair.
- Repair & replace defective or worn-out components using hand, power or specially designed tools
- Perform routine maintenance in accordance with OEM manuals.
- Assures all parts used are compliant with applicable standards.
- Calibrate products using hand tools.
- Comprehend original equipment manufacturers (OEM) maintenance manuals & Maintenance Control Manual (MCM)
- Work with production schedules and reports
- Ensure airworthiness documentation is complete and accurate.
- Ensure inspection records are complete and accurate.
- Work with team lead & Manager to assist in process improvements and changes.
- Ability to travel if need be.
- All other duties as required.
What you need to succeed:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years. We offer training
- Good English communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to read, understand and follow shop packets, routing, cutting schedules, work instructions, PCS, MSDS, technical drawings, and all other manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to prioritize and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work alone and with little supervision.
- Capable of working in a team environment
- Valid Police Records Check
- Detail-oriented.
- Hand dexterity
- Basic Microsoft program knowledge (Excel, Word)
- Flexible and willing to accept new challenges.
