The Oakwood Cafe has been an unassuming neighbourhood staple since 1992. Known for our breakfasts and burgers we offer home cooked comfort food served with a smile.

**What We Are Looking For**

We are looking for an experienced server with a valid Smart Choices/Serve It Safe certificate for our small restaurant. We are looking for someone with a sparkling personality and a knack for making guests feel welcome while providing a stellar experience. You will have a sense of humour, a sense of urgency while you work and be willing to pitch in with all tasks that need doing during a shift including cleaning and dishes if required.

You must be comfortable working alone during evening shifts and be evenings, weekends and holidays though you won't always be scheduled for them. We need you to be flexible in your availability and we try to accommodate your outside schedule wherever possible

**Some of your responsibilities will be**:

- Greet and seat customers in a friendly and courteous manner
- Take food and drink orders accurately
- Deliver orders promptly and accurately
- Handle cash transactions and operate POS systems efficiently
- Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance the dining experience (no hard selling)
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area
- Sharing in cleaning duties as required each shift
- Able to work as part of a small team and alone

**Experience and Required Skills**:
**MUST BE 18+ TO WORK IN A LICENSED ESTABLISHMENT**
- Previous experience in an often busy dining room environment
- Cash handling experience
- Strong hospitality skills
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Time management skills

**Nice-to-Have Skills**:

- First Aid training (not a deal breaker)

**You must be legally allowed to work in Canada, be fluent in English both written and spoken.**

**Licence/Certification**:

- Smart Serve (**required**)
- Serving It Safe **(required**)

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.80 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week
