As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Recent training or experience related to clinical laboratory required. Recent training or experience in urinalysis, including microscopic. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Proven ability to work within a computer based environment. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast pace changing environment. Ability to work independently when necessary. Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. Ability to facilitate change positively by encouraging others and accepting change within the workplace. Demonstrate a customer service attitude and delivery of excellent customer service by effectively meeting customer (internal and external) client needs by means of building productive and respectful customer relations and taking responsibility for customer satisfaction. Demonstrated personal leadership, regardless of role, by leading themselves through change, building positive, respectful and collaborative working relationships.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Connect Care Medical Lab assistance with collections training. Connect Care Cardiac Monitor Badge training. Minimum 1 year of experience as an MLA within a rural facility is preferred. Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience is preferred.
