**Job Title**: Fleet Manager & Logistics Coordinator
**Overview**: Join our team as a Fleet Manager & Logistics Coordinator, where you’ll play a key role in planning and coordinating transportation logistics to ensure the efficient transportation of poultry to various locations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement transportation plans to optimize the movement of poultry while maintaining cost efficiency and service quality.
- Collaborate with internal teams to determine transportation needs, ensuring adequate fleet coverage for scheduled deliveries and pickups.
- Oversee the assignment and utilization of transportation assets, including company-owned vehicles and contracted services.
- Monitor and track fleet operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Conduct regular yard checks to verify trailer load/unload status and resolve discrepancies.
- Investigate transportation-related issues such as schedule delays, accidents, and equipment failures, implementing contingency plans as needed.
- Ensure proper maintenance and availability of fleet assets, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of fleet performance, driver schedules, and compliance reports.
- Communicate roadside violations and compliance concerns to management for corrective actions.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar or related field.
- High School Diploma or GED required; a college or university education is an asset but not required.
- Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and find solutions to time-sensitive problems.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Advanced communication and listening skills with the ability to interpret and convey ideas/concepts clearly and concisely (both written and verbal).
- Experience with telephone and VOIP systems.
- Able to monitor progress and stay on task in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Experience with GPS tracking software
- Comfortable working with others in a cohesive team environment.
