Spa - Hairstylist

**POSITION IS LOCATED IN DIGBY NOVA SCOTIA**

**Job summary**:
***The main function of this position is to greet each guest in a pleasing manner, perform all aspects of the hair styling industry in a proficient and timely fashion keeping in mind the needs of the guests and the atmosphere of the Spa.

**Accountabilities**: The Hair stylist is directly responsible for the efficient and courteous manner in which all hair services are performed. Have knowledge of the products and how they are used and be able to communicate effectively with the client to provide them with knowledge they need to use the products effectively. Responsible for using safety procedures when doing haircuts, colors, perms, highlights, or any other service not only for the guests but for the hairstylist as well. Must keep hair station clean and safe. And to perform other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATION STANDARDS**:
**Education & Experience**:

- Licensed by the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia

**Tools & Equipment**:

- All necessary implements are to be used as taught in accordance with the standards set by the CANS.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Long hours sometimes required
- Prevent injury/undue fatigue by using proper body mechanics

**Mental Requirements**:

- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and

accurately.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues

raised by co-workers and guests.
