**Parent Appointment Support Worker /Admin Support**

**12 Months Full-Time Contract**

Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic offers trauma-informed legal services and representation, counselling and multilingual interpretation, and drives system transformation to support women and gender-diverse people who have experienced violence. Rooted in the foundations of intersectionality, innovation, and a client-centred approach, we foster the skills and resilience of the people we serve and amplify their voices to create individual and collective change.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team in a full-time 35 hours per week Parent Appointment Support Worker / Admin Support. In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children while their parents attend appointments and support groups on-site at the Clinic, and as well provide administrative assistance to support the Clinic’s Operations team.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

All duties and responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with Barbra Schlifer Clinic's Mandate, Mission and Values Statements.

PARENTAL SUPPORT
- Provide compassionate care and activities for children during on-site Clinic appointments and support groups
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support the emotional well-being and development of children
- Foster a positive and supportive environment, considering the unique needs of children in varied circumstances
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and positive experience of children under your care
- Collaborate with parents and session leaders to address any needs or concerns related to the children

**ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT**
- Research best products and prices and order equipment and supplies
- Maintain up to date inventory of IT and office equipment
- Process requests for IT and office equipment
- Maintain up to date budgetary information in conjunction with the Director
- Maintain records of all purchases pertaining to Operations
- Provide administrative support to Operations

**OTHER**
- Provide support as needed in preparation and set up for group sessions
- Attend team and all-staff meetings and trainings as required
- Compliance with all Clinic policies and procedures
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned

**KEY RELATIONSHIPS**
- The Parent Appointment Support Worker will report to and be supervised by the Director of Interpreter Services & Operations or her designate
- This role supports and works collaboratively with all client-facing departments on an on-going basis

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previous training and/or experience in childcare
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive space for children from diverse backgrounds
- Sensitivity to the unique needs of children whose parents are seeking support for gender-based violence through on-site support groups and appointments
- Strong understanding of feminist, anti-oppression and anti-racist frameworks
- Ability to have compassion for and communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when encountering difficult situations or performing job responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both clients and workers; communication is grounded in an understanding of trauma and its impacts
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Commitment and openness to feedback from management and peers and to ongoing enhancement of skills as well as continued professional development
- Ability to multi-task and remain decisive
- A second language is considered a strong asset

**SALARY**: $47,320 /annum. A comprehensive benefits package is offered through a group plan as

part of our United Way membership, following a successful probationary period
