Ottawa, Canada At-Home Hospice Full time

We are looking for committed PSWs to join our care teams for 8 and 12 hour shifts.

Pediatric and Palliative Clients in the Ottawa area. Training provided.

PSW would provide compassionate home-based care to individuals and their families.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assist with activities of daily living (ADL’s)
- Personal care
- bathing, showering, shaving, shampoo etc.
- Transfers & lifts
- Assist with meal preparation and clean up
- Client laundry
- May include light housekeeping
- Recognition of safety hazards
- Observation of client - to call family or care team when client unable to
- Report to family and supervisors
- To advise the office of any significant changes in client’s condition
- To immediately report any incidents occurring in the home that involve, client, staff or family
- To contribute to the documentation of client’s care

**In addition, the PSW shall be capable of**:

- cueing the Client with respect to any Personal Support and Homemaking Tasks and any other activity set out in the Client’s Service Plan;
- teaching the Client and, if applicable, the Caregiver, techniques, activities and behavior relating to the Client Care Plan; and
- assessing and validating that the Client and, if applicable, the Caregiver, have demonstrated their understanding and ability to carry out the acquired technique, activity and behavior taught.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 24-40 per week

**Salary**: From $21.00 per hour
