Computer Operations Operator

Console / Batch Operator
- Mainframe Console / Batch operator monitors and controls the operation of the mainframe hardware and software.
- Monitoring Batch processing / schedules / unusual conditions.
- The operator starts and stops system tasks.
- Works with the system programming and production control staff to ensure the health and normal operation of the systems.
- Operate and monitor the system console and related equipment,
- Identifies typical problem conditions then take corrective action and assist end users in solving system related issues.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience, preferably in a Data Center Mainframe Operations Console / Batch environment.
- Due to the 24x7 operations of the business, must be able to work a flexible work schedule, may include nights and weekends & holidays.
- Intermediate understanding of Mainframe, iSERIES, and VM system environments
- Must have JCL, batch job monitoring & scheduling skills (Control-M, Job Scheduler for OS/400, ESP - 11.4, CA7, CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries), Tivoli Workload Scheduler
- Must have IMS CICS DB2 JES2/3 MVS, TSO / NETVIEW / iSeries / OMEGAMON, PCOMM sessions, Tivoli, Maximo, Remedy, Cherwell, Lotus Notes, GNM(Everbridge), Slack., IBM VPN skills
- Able to perform system IPLs
- Strong experience in 1st level problem determination and reporting
- Understand Problem Management & Change Management requirements
- Escalate tickets as needed and collaborate with teammates to resolve issues.
- Provide assistance to all operations personnel to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment.
- Ability to multitask with a high attention to detail.
- Remain current with all procedures and provide input as appropriate.
- Must be able and willing to learn new tasks/skills as required
- Escalate to the assigned client representative and Pomeroy Manager any documentation, process or procedure discrepancies and follow-up until resolved.
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to communicate and understand verbal, written and electronic instructions in English and French.
- Have a Level 2 Clearance.

**Requirements**:

- Monitor all batch flow processing and ensure timely completion of endpoints/milestones.
- Identify delays or bottlenecks and resolve or escalate accordingly.
- Track and document all outages and incidents
