As an HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the employee experience. You will be responsible to administer a variety of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, labour relations, compliance, and performance management. Working closely with the HR Manager, you will assist in driving the implementation of HR policies and practices, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and help maintain and foster a positive and supportive work environment.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:

- Administer and support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws and company standards.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries.
- Support employee relations efforts by providing guidance on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, including personnel files, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee communications.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
- Monitor HR metrics and prepare reports on key HR functions to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with special HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Evaluate and continually improve HR processes, policies, procedures, controls and systems, consistent with best practices, standards and operational/regulatory requirements.
- Provide support and assistance with labour relations files, including investigations, employee discipline and grievance processes.
- Represent and/or assist with representation of the employer on the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.

**QUALIFICATIONS**: Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through:

- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a generalist capacity.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with ADP is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint;
- CPHR designation is considered an asset.
- Experience working in the Public Safety Sector considered an asset.
- Good communication, interpersonal, organizational skills;
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
- Ability and willingness to contribute effectively in a team environment;
- Ability to deal with HR issues with a high level of discretion and confidentiality;
- Strong oral and written communication skills
