**PURPOSE AND SCOPE**:
As a member of the Operations team, the Manufacturing Technician - Finishing reports to the Production Supervisor. The Manufacturing Technician - Finishing is responsible for improving throughput of operations by optimization of processes.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Improve Throughput of operations by optimization of processes.
- Document changes to set points, programs, and parameters
- Reduce downtime by executing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance TPM activities.
- Identify nonstandard conditions and recommend resolution options to the Production Supervisors and team leaders
- Decrease expenses by ensuring the optimum utilization of resources such as tooling, labour, material and energy.
- Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot fixtures and tooling for CNC lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and grinding machines
- Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot special purpose machinery including induction heat treat cells, CNC grinders, deburr machines, and washing equipment, automated non-destructive testing cells
- Troubleshoot automation including robotics such as Motoman, Kuka, and Fanuc
- Knowledge of Fanuc, OKUMA, and Siemens CNC control systems, Shimada, EMAG, Tongtai, Lathes and SW Machining centres
- Provide technical support in troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment in order to minimize machine downtime
- Assists in training other team members
- Ensure operational quality and efficiency targets are maintained
- Ensure that all levels of safety are implemented into each machine.
- Maintenance of Quality Operating Systems with respect to equipment documentation and record retention as per ISO/TS 16949 standards
- Work closely with team leaders and supervisors on troubleshooting with use of 5W Techniques
- Improvements in machine maintainability and reliability
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
- Adheres to Stackpole’s policies and procedures
- Adheres and supports Stackpole’s Safety and Environmental policies and practices
- Ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 are conformed to
- Other related duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE**:

- **Qualifications**:_
- Mechanical Engineering Technician / Manufacturing Engineering Technician Diploma
- Postsecondary certificate in CNC Programming or equivalent experience is preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a high speed automotive manufacturing environment is preferred
- Understanding of automotive systems and quality requirements based on ISO/TS 16949 operating systems is preferred
- Familiar with ABB, Motoman, and Kuka robotics and the programming of same
- Proven experience in advanced programming of CNC machines. Must have experience in programming and operating Fanuc, OKUMA, and Siemens CNC control systems.
- **Technical & Skill Requirements**:_
- Excellent blueprint reading ability including understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing
- Excellent ability to use various types of measuring equipment to check parts to print and ensure quality production with ability to interpret CMM reports
- Endurance, flexibility and energy level must be high
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation

**WORK ENVIRONMENT (including Physical Demands)**:

- Must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
- Manufacturing environment with limited climate control
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
