Would you like to work at a floating lodge in the sublimely beautiful Great Bear Rainforest? Would you be excited to help provide a world-class wildlife tourism experience to guests? Then **Great Bear Lodge **would love to have you as the **Lodge Housekeeper**. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in ecotourism while being surrounded by wilderness and wildlife. Our lodge is on the central coast of BC, in the traditional lands of the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nation, and we take people out to see grizzly bears in their natural habitat. The lodge is small, accommodating 18 guests, thus providing a very personal experience.
As Lodge Housekeeper, you’ll keep the lodge sparkling-clean and make sure the guests are comfortable. We are happy to provide any training you’ll need to be successful in the position.
Your day involves:
- Housekeeping for the lodge, including changing rooms on guests’ departure.
- Cooking breakfast for guests.
- Acting as a welcoming host for the guests.
- Training lodge helpers.
- Occasional general maintenance of the lodge such as painting and gardening.

**Details**:
- The season runs from May to October, so ideally you would join the team for the entire season. However we can be flexible and work with your availability.
- Average work schedule is 18 days working at the lodge, 6 days off in town, although we are open to other schedules.
- Work days are 8-10 hours long on average.
- At the lodge, you will have a private room in a staff floathouse.
- We work in a rainforest. It can rain daily for two weeks. It can also be sunny for two weeks.
- Room and board are provided at the lodge with satellite internet access, as is transportation between Port Hardy and the lodge. There is a staff apartment for you to use in Port Hardy on your days off.

- Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ideally you will have previous experience in housekeeping. However if you are enthusiastic, we will happily train you to be successful in the position.

- Salary/Wage: $180/day plus gratuities
