Vacant Position: 4 hours per day

Effective immediately

Rate of Pay: As per Collective Agreement ($16.68)

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.

**Qualifications and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of and a willingness to build healthy menus and snacks on sound nutritional principles.
- Experience working in a school at the p to 5 level is preferable.
- Previous experience in a school cafeteria will be an asset.
- An educational background in the nutritional studies would be and asset

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for managing the cafeteria under the supervision of the school principal.
- Current Food Handlers certificate.
- Experience in the area of food preparation, presentation, and service to students and staff.
- A willingness to consult and collaborate regarding cafeteria business plan, weekly menu and pricing.
- Ordering food items and relevant supplies.
- Keeping an inventory on a frequent basis, of all foods and supplies.
- Daily deposits.
- Cash reconciliation and sales reports.
- Preparation and serving of food, kitchen duties as required in co-ordination with the cafeteria team (stocking, cleaning, dishes, etc.)
- A willingness to be engaged in the school recycling program.
- An interest in working in a school environment.

Qualified applicants from within CUPE Bargaining Unit Local 3876 will be considered first. Should there be no qualified applicants from within the Bargaining Unit, new applicants will be considered.

Employment with the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is contingent upon providing a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
