**PROGRAM OVERVIEW**
The Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) program aims to increase access to publicly funded, evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and related approaches for Ontarians with mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions (i.e. obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, health anxiety etc.).
The OSP Program in Waterloo Region operates through the Counselling Collaborative of Waterloo Region (CCWR). The CCWR is a community-based partnership between six community counselling agencies within Waterloo Region, including, Carizon, Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries, Interfaith Counselling Centre, KW Counselling Services, Shalom Counselling Services and Woolwich Counselling Centre. The Centre for Family Medicine will also participate with the CCWR in the OSP Program.
**Carizon Family and Community Services, in collaboration with the Counselling Collaborative of Waterloo Region and the Centre for Family Medicine, is hiring two OSP CBT Psychotherapists for the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program. These are full time (37.5 hours/week) positions only.** The incumbents will be employed by Carizon Family and Community Service (Carizon) to work in partnership with the Counselling Collaborative of Waterloo Region.
**POSITION OVERVIEW**
For the two OSP CBT Psychotherapist positions, we are seeking experienced therapists who are excited by change and innovation. You will work as part of a newly developed clinical team within the OSP Program, providing a structured Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach to the citizens of Waterloo Region. You will deliver individual and group protocol-based structured psychotherapy to individuals experiencing mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related conditions within their community and the Ontario West region. The OSP CBT Therapist will participate in regular clinical consultation to ensure high quality service delivery and adherence to the OSP Clinical Model.
Comprehensive training will be provided by Ontario Health (West) and therapists will be supported through focused clinical supervision. There will also be opportunity to connect with OSP therapists through a broader community of practice.
The OSP CBT Psychotherapist must possess strong clinical skills and have experience with CBT approaches as well as expertise administering and completing comprehensive assessments (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7). Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively is required as you will be working in various locations around the region.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide psychotherapy with individual adults who have been identified and referred for OSP
- Facilitate group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy utilizing evidence-based approaches
- Conduct assessments (PHQ-9, GAD-7) during each session to inform individualized treatment plans and to assess treatment progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports
- Collaborate with team members in provision of care
- Participate in clinical supervision meetings and regional community of practice meetings
- Contribute to program development and program evaluation
- Maintain and upgrade knowledge and skills; maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with relevant policies and legislation, Mental Health Act and PHIPA
- Maintain an organized appointment schedule
- Maintain excellent communication between host agency and the CCWR
- Other duties as required
**KNOWLEDGE/ EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE**
- Master’s degree, bachelor’s degree or an equivalent graduate diploma that requires completion of a bachelor’s level program and has the practice of psychotherapy central to its program.
- Registered member in good standing with one of the five Colleges regulated to perform the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy in Ontario and who are regulated to practice the controlled act of psychotherapy:
- The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- The College of Nurses of Ontario
- The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
- The College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the science and provision of mental health and/or addictions treatment (2-3 years preferred), including a full range of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques.
- Knowledge and experience utilizing evidence-based CBT treatment models with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and anxiety related conditions
- Documented evidence of formal CBT and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) training with appropriate supervision/clinical consultation preferred. Additional training in CPT preferred
