**Job Summary**:
The Roofing Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs of roofing projects by analyzing project requirements, specifications, and site conditions. This role involves collaborating with various departments, suppliers, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. The estimator will contribute to project planning, budgeting, and successful project completion.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **_Project Analysis and Estimation_**
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather necessary information
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing projects, including materials, labour, and equipment costs
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans
- **_Bid Preparation_**
- Compile and submit competitive bids and proposals in a timely manner
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain pricing and availability
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and client requirements
- **_Collaboration and Communication_**
- Work closely with the sales team, project managers, and other stakeholders to align estimates with project goals and objectives
- Participate in pre-bid and project meetings to discuss project scope, timelines, and budgets
- Maintain effective communication with clients and suppliers
- **_Documentation and Reporting_**
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation
- Provide regular updates on estimation progress and bid submission to management
- Prepare reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders
- **_Continuous Improvement_**
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and best practices
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy in estimation practices

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in roofing estimation or a related field
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Estimating Edge, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of roofing systems, materials, and construction methods
- Strong analytical skills, mathematical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external professionals

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to conduct site visits, including climbing ladders and accessing rooftops
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use standard office equipment

**Work Environment**:

- Primarily office-based with occasional site visits
- May require occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, or industry events
