LDAPR is seeking enthusiastic, talented educators who loves children and teaching to provide academic support to ourneurodiverse child and youthclients You are passionate about working one-on-one with students in the primary, junior/intermediateor intermediate/senior levels. You must be well versed in working with youth with learning differences. You will be delivering tutoring services that follow the Ontario curriculum, monitoring client progress, and providing modifications and accommodations as necessary to create the best experiences for our youth clients.

LDAPR provides a supportive, flexible working environment with paid training and opportunities for advancement. We are seeking tutors who will commit to working with LDAPR for a minimum of one year to honour the needs of our neurodiverse youth clients for consistency and the ability to bond with their tutors.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Deliver engaging, supportive one-on-one tutoring (in-person and virtual) with neurodiverse children in one of the following learning levels:

- Kindergarten to grade 8 youth clients
- current tutoring frameworks are Jump Math and Reading Rocks
- Secondary youth clients in English and/or math
- Assess the learning needs of new youth tutoring clients via input with student and family, reviewing psycho-educational assessments, individual educational plans, and other mechanisms
- Capably and compassionately address challenging behaviour in youth students with learning differences/disabilities during sessions
- Work with individual youth clients during sessions in an engaging, caring manner
- Communicate with families/caregivers of youth clients in a respectful, collaborative manner
- Assess the progress of your youth clients and the program overall and maintaining data files on youth client progress
- Collaborate with other tutors in delivering the programs as appropriate

**Skills and experience**
- B. Ed. or equivalent education and experience, with Ontario curriculum knowledge
- Individuals with an OTC preferred. Rate of pay to refelct certification.
- Experience working with youth with learning differences required
- One-on-one tutoring experience required. Strong knowledge of teaching strategies for reading, spelling, and math for children with learning differences
- Experience dealing with challenging behaviour in students with learning differences/disabilities
- Experience assessing student learning performance and challenges
- Experience with Reading Rocks and Jump Math programs a substantial asset
- Love of working with children, especially those who think differently, a necessity
- Creative, independent worker with team spirit
- Standard computer/tech skills
- Fluency in English is required for this position
- Nonprofit experience is an asset
- Willingness to work flexible hours outside of usual business hours, as tutoring takes place after school and potentially on weekends

**Hours**:This is a part-time, LDAPR staff position. Tutors must be available for a minimum of /hours per week between the hours of 4:00pm - 8:00pm. We are also considering weekend tutoring hours..

**Pay Scale**: This position pays **$23-$25/ hour**, dependent upon experience, to start.

**Locations**: Tutoring sessions are delivered in-person from LDAPR's offices in Brampton and Mississauga (Major Intersections: Chinguacousy Rd/Williams PKWY in Brampton and Eglington/Fairwind Dr. in Mississauga). You may chose the location that fits best for you. There is also some limited opportunitiesy for virtual work as you advance in your position with LDAPR.
