Material Handler

The Material Handler will perform production shop functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting, entering the data into the inventory database. The Material Handler is also responsible for loading and un-loading material, moving, handling, and organizing all incoming and outgoing materials.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, staging of products and loading and unloading of deliveries.
- Perform receiving inspections in accordance with company procedures and mark materials with correct identifying information.
- Ensure all received materials are organized and distributed to the correct personnel or placed production areas.
- Accurate entry of information into the Inventory Management System and day to day paperwork in a production shop environment.
- Check availability of items to be issued or shipped by confirming inventory records or conducting a spot check of inventory for required items.
- Assemble work orders for production and stock-to-stock transfer; transfer to production or packing area using a handcart, pallet jack, forklift, overhead crane, and heavy equipment;
- Maintain production shop cleanliness in compliance HSE Policies and organization of material [MOU1][CP2]and inventory supplies, monitor all shop trash and trash bins, empty or place trash into large bins located outside.
- Promote a safety culture, attend all safety meetings, adhere to safety policies, guidelines and training.
- Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Combination of education and relevant experience;
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree);
- Valid forklift certification with a minimum of 1-2 years or prior experience;
- 1+ years of Material Handling experience;
- 3+ years of experience in a production shop environment required;
- Basic math and good reading skills;
- Basic level computer skills in MS Office; including Excel experience;
- Overhead crane experience or certificate is considered an asset;

- Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs;
- Ability to stand for long periods of time;
- Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices;

**Salary**: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
