- and After-School Play-Based Learning Leader**

Eastgate Academy is seeking staff for our before
- and after-school play-based learning program called ‘Eastgate Explorers’. We are looking for individuals who are available from 7:30 - 8:30am and 3:30-5:30pm on weekdays (Monday through Thursday), and 7:30 - 9:30am on Wednesdays.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervising students during extended play-based learning before and after school
- Ensuring students are picked up by a designated adult
- Maintaining an atmosphere of physical and emotional safety for children
- Developing age-appropriate engaging activities for students, including creative, physical and/or outdoor activities
- Ensuring children are following proper hygiene and safety procedures
- Responding to any student or parent needs in a timely manner
- Maintaining accurate attendance records
- Attending to daily set-up and clean-up tasks

**Required Qualifications and skills**:

- Demonstrated experience working with children ages 4 - 12
- Dedicated attention to the care and safety of child
- Proven ability to work collaboratively
- Capacity to be creative, flexible, and patient
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail

**Preferred Experience and Qualities**:

- First Aid certification
- Ability to speak French

**Salary**
- $15 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- 2+ hours per week
