**Job Summary**
Under the direction of the Camp Coordinator, the AfterSchool Camp Counsellor will:

- Participate in training and planning sessions as required
- Assume responsibility for the supervision, personal hygiene, safety and well-being of campers
- Know whereabouts of your campers at all times
- Provide one to one support for campers when required
- Develop, plan and organize games to accommodate campersin an inclusive camp experience
- Assume responsibility for camp facilities and equipment
- Must be prepared and willing to engage in outdoor activities
- Communicate effectively with parents of campers daily
- Learn Kinap Polices and Rules of Camp
- Treat everyone fairly within the context of their activity, regardless of gender, place of origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, political belief or economic status

Requirements for Hire:

- First Aid / CPR or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with children
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Successful screening through Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record check (for ages 18 and older)

**Skills**:

- Highly motivated, personable and well organized
- Experience working with the public (all ages) especially children and youthu
- Work collaboratively with the Camp Coordinator.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
- Be of excellent character and a role model
- Possess enthusiasm, energy, patience and a sense of humour
- Desire to work with children
- Demonstrated skill or willingness to develop skills working with children who have challenging personalities or behaviours

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
