Modern -warehouse Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a _**Warehouse Supervisor **_to join our Ontario distribution center. Salary is commensurate with experience. **Warehouse Supervisor - ONTARIO**

Based in Barrie, Ontario and working under the supervision of the Distribution Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Distribution Manager in the execution of managerial duties of the Ontario warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor will also be responsible for managing the warehouse in the absence of the Distribution Manager.

**Key Supervisory Responsibilities**:

- Assists the Distribution Manager with supervising, training, motivating, coaching and monitoring the performance of the warehouse team
- Works with the Distribution Manager to warehouse staff in daily activities
- Assists with building opening, close down procedures and building security (setting alarms and security contact). Ensures the front entrance and shipping docks are clear of debris, snow and ice
- Ensures all orders and member/vendor orders and returns are picked, packed, and shipped properly ensuring productivity standards and shipping timelines are achieved
- Coordinates the cleaning of the warehouse, shipping and docking area. Monitors cardboard, steel, and wood recycling
- Investigates and responds to member's requests, complaints and/or issues in a timely fashion ensuring optimum member satisfaction
- Maintains warehouse storage and creates space for new and expanding product lines
- Assists Product Sales Representatives with reviewing product lines
- Enforces job procedures and company policies and procedures; continuously improves work processes
- Assists with administrative duties such as pre-receiving, data entry, preparing envelopes for Head Office and filing
- Works with the Joint Health & Safety Committee to continue the distribution center's excellent health and safety record
- Other general duties, as assigned

**Knowledge and Experience Required**:

- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a related position
- Supervisory experience in a warehouse/distribution environment with supervision of up to 60 staff
- Familiarity with computerized order processing systems and in the following computer environments: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Vision, JMO, WMS Systems, ShipIt or other comparable computer shipping system
- Experience using computerized scanning equipment
- Knowledge of alpha numeric systems
- Experience operating stand-up counter-balance forklift, scissor-lift reach truck, stock-picker and power-walkie
- First Aid Training - Level 1 or higher

- Ability to work cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team
- Ability to direct, lead and maintain supervision of warehouse associates
- Strong aptitude for numbers and strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
- Detailed oriented and excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Possess a high level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining the confidentiality of all organizational related matters
- A passion for ensuring that safe working practices are followed to maintain an excellent health and safety record
