Lead Quality Assurance/quality Control Inspector

The project site located in Windsor, Ontario is looking for detail oriented, analytical and dependable **Lead **Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector - Structural** to join the project team for an eleven (11) month contract.

**SUMMARY OF THE ROLE**:
Reporting to the Project Manager and Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the Lead Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector - Structural will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with the Company Quality policies, programs, and practices in respect of the various required Codes and Standards on company site structural projects.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Establishes quality standards for evaluation of products
- Develops and Implements Site QA Plan and Inspection &Test Plans for Structural Steel erection, Anchor Bolts, tolerances, column plumbness
- Performs Incoming Material/Service Inspection; In process and Final Inspection
- Examines work pieces to determine conformance with Specifications and welding requirements
- Interprets Specifications, blueprints, and job orders for workers
- Performs visual, dimensional, and weld inspections
- Performs or supervises additional testing in accordance with applicable Specifications and Guidance (i.e. skidmore testing and other bolt validation)
- Monitors currency of welder qualification records and certifications
- Maintains inspection and calibrations records
- Verifies dimensions of fabrications/assemblies using various inspection tools
- Ensures compliance with Codes, Standards, and requirements (i.e. ASME, CSA, AWS/CWB, ANSI/AISC/CISC/RCSC, ISO 9001)
- Establishes procedures for testing structural steel to Code and/or Standard requirements
- Presents and expedites solutions to fabrication and/or installation problems and testing procedures
- Complies, analyzes and presents history dockets and other turnover documentation
- Other Responsibilities/Activities as directed by the Site Project Manager and Corporate QA Manager

**KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Quality, Engineering or C.E.T.
- Adept knowledge of various Q.A./Q.C. codes and inspection techniques
- Fully conversant with structural installation specifications (i.e. CSA S16, CSA W59)
- Completely familiar with the development of ITP (Inspection & Test Plans) to various Codes

**SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:

- Minimum of 10 years' experience working in the Quality Assurance field
- 10 years' Quality Assurance field experience within a construction environment
- Background with inspection and construction operations is required
- Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Certification
- Experienced with CSA, ANSI/A/SC/CISC/RCSC, /SO 9001 Standards
- CGSB I CWB Certifications
- Excellent communication abilities both written and verbal
