We are currently looking to hire a Carpenter to join our growing team and contribute to some exciting projects across the island.

In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing structures and components made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. You are expected to be detail-oriented and knowledgeable about different carpentry materials. You must have the ability to work with a team, as well as independently. The Carpenter must be able to work under pressure and meet required deadlines on a wide variety of projects.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

**Qualifications & Education**:

- Minimum 2-3 years of carpentry or construction experience
- Extensive knowledge of power tools
- Knowledge of lumber grades and countertop materials
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 50 pounds
- Willingness to work overtime, when necessary, to deliver the project on time
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
- Valid Driver's License

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
