**Inclusion Support Worker**

Casual Position - On call, or as per scheduled 20-40 hrs. / week.

**Position Overview**

This position is responsible for promoting Children’s Social, Emotional, Physical, and Cognitive development and providing engaged supervision for children approved under the Inclusion Support Program enrolled in the Childcare Centre. Reporting to the Childcare Director and the Afterschool Program Coordinator, the Inclusion support worker is to ensure the implementation of the YMCA Playing to Learn and A Place to Connect Curriculum.

**Duties**
- Maintain open communication within the team and families
- Model appropriate interactions/participation with peers
- Participate actively in scheduled outings, meal times, swim, and gym.
- Maintain compliance with all YMCA and government established policies.
- Attend trainings and meetings, as scheduled and deemed necessary.
- Complete daily administrative tasks/checklists related to provincial standards and curriculum.
- Create a physical and social environment offering a full range of child-directed learning opportunities conducted through small group interactions.
- Develop and Implement Individualized Guidance Plans in accordance with the Principles of Inclusion - Access, Participation and Support
- Document and plan in accordance with the YMCA curriculum.
- Inform parents about a child’s developmental and behavioral progress in a caring, confidential manner.
- Maintain the facilities, equipment, and supplies in accordance with YMCA and Provincial Standards (law).
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- A clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- A Clear Social Development Record Check
- A valid Basic First Aid and CPR (Level C) Certification
- A Recognized Early Childhood Education Certificate / Diploma or Bachelor of Education Degree (a strong asset)
- Child and Youth Care, Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training, Child Behavior Specialist, or related Degree or Diploma (an asset)
- Previous experience working with Children with exceptionalities / Children on the Autism Spectrum (Strong Asset)
- Knowledge of Child Development
- Previous Experience working in Licensed Early Learning and Childcare Facility
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Able to work flexible hours
- Able to provide 2 professional references

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $19.36-$26.43 per hour
