The packaging equipment maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to Safety, GMP and Preventive Maintenance Systems and Processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

**Shift**: Midnight : Monday to Friday 11pm-7am

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble, troubleshoot, and operate a variety of filling, packaging, gluing, sealing, weighing packaging equipments on a day-to-day basis
- Diagnose malfunctions and determine the need for adjustment or repair
- Perform and follow written set-up and maintenance on machines and equipment as per preventative maintenance schedule
- Perform size-change on packaging lines and prepare them for a variety of product formats
- Train operators on proper handling of equipment. Machine and basic operation and troubleshooting.
- Work with outside contractors to ensure completion of maintenance tasks and with other groups and trades personnel
- Responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance on processing equipment, maximizing equipment uptime, and general maintenance repairs
- Knowledge and use of basic office equipment as well as computer programs and software.
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and overtime if required.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to learn and repair packaging related equipment, mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems and general building repairs..
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a warehouse environment and in outside yard operations.
- Ability to safely operate various power equipment including packaging machines, fork lift, pallet jack, high reach order picker, and scissor lift.
- Ability to work from heights.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders as well as follow sketches and diagrams to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, repair or replace parts, test and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities according to schedule.
- Use and maintain accountability for a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

**EDUCATION**:
**EXPERIENCE**:

- Must be able to use all basic hand and power tools.
- Must have basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Knowledge of PM programs and processes
- Machine shop and fabrication skills would be and asset
- Experience with high speed cartoning line, multi head scales, filling equipment, check weighers, Thurling line, pre-made bagging, laser coders, lot coders, case sealers, auto case packers would be an asset.
