**Description**:
Ebb and Flow Forest School is looking for a Summer Camp Facilitator to plan and facilitate weekly summer camps for kids from 5-10 years old.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor of Education, Early Childhood Education diploma or **comparable experiences**.

Current First Aid with CPR level C or Intentions to complete this qualification by June 2024.

Current and clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check

Experience working outdoors and working with children.

Physically able to work in outdoor conditions (variable weather conditions, uneven terrain)

Able to model a positive, resilient attitude in all weather conditions

Understands the forest school model of safe risky play, emergent play-based learning.

Ability to reliably complete daily checklists and tasks and communicate clearly with the team.

**Description/Responsibilities**:
Plan and facilitate week long camps to children ages 4-12 years old.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children while they participate in forest exploration, planned activities including some tool use, open-fire cooking and hiking.

Actively engage with the children, demonstrating a genuine interest in them as individuals

Collaborate with a team member to plan, prepare and implement activities.

Clearly communicate with team members, school directors and parents about important aspects of children’s experiences. (moments of growth, injuries, behaviour concerns, etc.)

Use positive reinforcement and encouraging language to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Incorporate mindfulness and character education into forest school camps.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
