Your Opportunity:
Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Continuing Care experience: Demonstrated experience working in a continuing care environment, with a focus on providing compassionate support to residents while ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Computer & Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook for scheduling, communication, and documentation. Experienced with Connect Care (Epic EHR) for managing patient records and coordinating care. Teamwork & Flexibility: Strong ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Able to both provide input and take direction when necessary to ensure quality care and efficient service delivery. Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing for effective interaction with residents, families, visitors, and multidisciplinary team members. Demonstrated ability to listen actively and provide clear, compassionate responses. Time Management: Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Physical Demands & Patient Support: Comfortable and capable of performing physical tasks such as assisting with mobility, pushing wheelchairs, answering phones, and lifting supplies. Able to maintain stamina during 8-hour shifts and provide physical support to residents as needed.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience with dementia care is an asset. Medical terminology course preferred.
