London, Canada Kensington Village Retirement Residence Full time

Kensington Village Retirement Home is located in North East London. We have been providing residents with compassion, comfort and care since 1984. We are currently looking for a casual Recreation Aide for our Retirement Residence.

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent is required
- Previous experience working with seniors
- Proficiency in Activity Pro and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or willing to obtain one
- Completion of a 2-step TB test
- A class F provincial driver's license is an asset

**Requirements of the position: (including but not limited to)**
- Responsible for all aspect of resident programs including but not limited to planning, decorating, setting up, facilitating, supervising and assisting residents, cleaning up, documenting and evaluating
- Organize and facilitate community outings
- Organize and run 1-1, small and large group activities and special events
- Complete residents assessment and establish goals and interventions
- Complete documentation, including attendance, progress notes
- Supervise and liaise with volunteers and community resources
- Mark as a contributing member of an interdisciplinary team
- To work flexible shifts, evening and weekend work required
- Assist serving in the dining room as needed

This position can take on many duties and the applicant is expected to be flexible in both work time and their ability to meet the position requirements.

**Salary**: From $20.50 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- London, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
