Do you have a passion for earth sciences and mining? Are you looking for a unique and exciting place to share that knowledge? Dynamic Earth is currently seeking a Staff Scientist. These innovative and creative leaders are core to our scientific team as they develop and deliver exciting science experiences through exhibits, workshops, and educational programs and use their people skills to coach, mentor and manage a team of staff and volunteers in the delivery of a quality visitor experience.
**Position highlights**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Dynamic Earth You will
- Initiate, research and develop new programs/workshops/shows, ensuring programs are age appropriate and meet current curriculum standards and learning theories
- Deliver, train, and oversee the delivery of programs by team members
- Plan, organize and deliver events, programs and initiatives with external partners
- Research, provide conceptual designs/plans, prototype, develop, implement and evaluate new countertop exhibits
- Lead and oversee all aspects of projects/exhibits related to area of expertise including staff performance, training, workshop/content and exhibit development
- Liaise, coordinate, support and collaborate with internal and external clients
- Problem solve/anticipate needs/issues, identify solutions and respond to client/visitor complaints/concerns
- Develop, implement, train and deliver on special events and programing such as the Dynamic Earth annual Halloween event
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a earth science, mining or related field with 2-4 years related experience is required
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and delivering training with programs or workshops
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff
- Fluency in English required. Fluency in French will be considered an asset

- Ability to interact with members of the general public, partners and staff at all levels
- Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills

- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a wide variety of individuals
- Ability to multi-task and adjust quickly to changing priorities or organizational needs
**Compensation Highlights**:
- Full-time permanent opportunity
- Starting salary range $47,300 to $56,000 per year, based on experience
