**Operations Support at NowWhat**:
24Hrs + per week - Flexible days and work hours, to be negotiated
$20-22.50/hr to start, depending on experience, skills & competence
Starting mid January 2025
**About NowWhat Supports**:
NowWhat is a flexible, supportive, and joyful working environment, in a beautiful clinic and a lovely community in downtown Ancaster. We are a nature-loving, out-of-the-box clinic that provides holistic and creative clinical, social, and educational support to children, youth and adults across a range of domains, including ADHD & executive function, social communication, emotional regulation, anxiety, and behavioural challenges. We run an alternative day program for children on the Autism spectrum or other complex needs, social programs for children and teens, and counselling for people of all ages.
**About the Role**:
This is a ‘fill in the gaps’ position to support our amazing (and very busy) Operations Manager, ideal for a flexible, intuitive, and self-motivated human who would enjoy contributing to the life of our vibrant, busy organization. Every day would look a little different, and there’s lots of opportunity to take ownership for how you spend your time and to create efficiencies and organizational systems. We’re looking for someone with good executive function skills, so they can zoom out to look at the big picture as well as zoom in on the individual tasks - someone who loves spotting the things that need to happen to make life roll out smoothly, and is ready to roll up their sleeves and get ‘er done
We need at least 24hrs per week, but we're willing to talk about a 32-40hr week if you have enough relevant skills to manage various other duties (eg front desk reception).
**About You**:
If you're our person, you're warm, friendly and personable. You're looking for a job that leverages your 'Jack of all trades' skills at a positive workplace with flexibility to work around your life stuff, and autonomy to take ownership over the space and do what needs to be done to keep it functional and beautiful.
You're looking for a long term in-person position where you feel valued as a human, confident in your ability to contribute to a team, and challenged to grow and learn.
You value the ability to flex your hours around the duties of the job and the important factors in your life.
You’re quick to laugh and willing to work through conflict and challenges with humour and positivity. You can work to a deadline and pick up new processes quickly. You can present professionally and you are confident when it comes to speaking with parents and families, and you communicate clearly.
You also love animals and are willing to muck in and take care of them as we have various therapeutic pets at the clinic (hamsters, fish, turtles, lizards and dogs).
**Requirements**:
- You're able to lift 20lbs+ comfortably
- You have a clean license and your own reliable vehicle with insurance (mileage reimbursed for errands etc)
- You enjoy being around children, people in general, and animals
- You live locally (Hamilton area)
- You are able to commit for at least a year (we're looking for a long term position)
**Possible Duties**:
- Sanitize and wipe down common surfaces (door knobs, light switches, tables and countertops, railings)
- Deep clean and organize kitchen equipment (stovetop, oven, refrigerators) approx once a month
- Tidy common areas, and group work spaces to reset them for new day/group
- Deep clean specific zones periodically (eg remove furniture cushions and vacuum/wash covers)
- Seasonal clean up of garden areas and backyard space as needed, salting/clearing front steps between snow removal vists etc (please note - we have regular snow and lawn maintenance services - this would just be in between/supplemental)
- BONUS POINTS if you have a green thumb and would love to run a kitchen garden
- Return specific toys/games/puzzles to appropriate storage space
- Picking up groceries/supplies from the store for various programs and clinical resources, and putting them away
- Responsible for cleaning of animal cages/habitats and fish tanks every 1 to 2 weeks, and ordering food and supplies for animals. Includes some play time with animals
- Garage rec room care (mopping mats, sweeping floor, reorganizing resources)
- Carpet care (spot cleaning), interior window/glass spot cleaning as needed
- Laundry for tea-towels etc.
- On occasion, kitchen support (meal and snack prep, cooking/cleaning) for Monthly Lunch and Learns, or camp days when needed
- You're willing to pitch in with various other tasks as assigned (helping print/bind/laminate resources, rearrange rooms, shuttle a client in a tight moment, bake a batch of cookies for waiting clients etc)
Please submit a resume and cover letter telling us why you think you'd be a good fit.
