ALL ABOUT THE ROLE*
Reporting to the CEO, the Financial Controller is responsible for the payroll, accounting and reporting functions. This role requires a talented and detail-oriented professional with the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a growing and fast-paced environment. This role is critical to building the foundation of our accounting operations to support business growth and serve as a finance partner to the senior leadership team.

YOUR-DAY-TO-DAY DUTIES**:

- Perform and oversee day-to-day full cycle accounting functions including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, A/R, A/P, etc.
- Timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions, as well as completing related reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze various weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements
- Prepare timely financial statements
- Develop, document, and implement best-in-class internal controls
- Prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with all relevant local, provincial, state and federal reporting requirements
- Review G/L and posting of the monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage all intercompany transactions
- Manage foreign exchange gain/loss calculation at month-end
- Support the annual budgeting and operating planning processes
- Manage the external audits of the interim and year-end financial statements
- Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic direction for growth
- Research, assess, and report all potential risks (and present risk mitigation strategies)
- Track all PO payments, deposits, and subsequent transactions while meeting deadlines
- Maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers eg. banks
- Liaise and issue applicable financial information to relevant parties
- Assist with inventory forecasting / ordering projections and budgeting
- Provide insight into new data and reporting strategies to support other teams
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- CPA Accounting designation preferred
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED**
- Experience with Sage 50
- Experience working with multiple entities and currencies
- Process-oriented and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to establish strong professional relationships
- Self-motivated, solution driven and a positive work ethic
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
- Results-driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self motivated and able to meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to learn and grow within the position
**WORK SCHEDULE**
Monday-Friday, 7am to 3pm
