Markham, Canada Caution Tape Robotics Club Full time

**Curriculum Writer - STEM & Robotics (Full-Time)**

**Company Overview**

Caution Tape Robotics Club is a leader in robotics education through VEX in Ontario, Canada. We inspire students to excel through hands-on learning, engineering design, and innovation. Our programs engage students ages 5-18 through robotics, programming, 3D printing, maker projects, and STEM challenges.

We are growing our curriculum team and looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, education, and creativity.

**Position Overview**

We are seeking a full-time Curriculum Writer with a strong engineering or technical background who is curious, analytical, and passionate about creating high-quality, hands-on STEM learning experiences.

This role goes beyond writing—it involves designing and prototyping educational games and activities, working closely with our instructional team, and ensuring that the curriculum is not only innovative but also deliverable on timeline and classroom-tested.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and write engaging STEM and robotics curriculum for K-8 learners that emphasizes engineering thinking, creativity, and structured problem solving.
- Develop in-depth lesson content, ensuring each unit focuses on core concepts and learning outcomes, not just activities.
- Build proof-of-concept (POC) versions of projects and games to validate learning goals before curriculum release.
- Create detailed lesson plans including objectives, materials, instructional steps, assessments, and teacher notes.
- Produce supplementary materials (e.g., worksheets, guides, multimedia assets) that support hands-on learning.
- Manage multiple curriculum projects, deliver on agreed timelines, and maintain high quality standards.
- Gather feedback from classroom pilots and iteratively improve content.
- Stay current on trends in STEM education, robotics, and maker technologies, bringing new ideas into the curriculum pipeline.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, STEM Education, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical thinking and curiosity, with the ability to break down complex concepts into teachable steps.
- Proven ability to manage project timelines and deliver high-quality curriculum within schedule.
- Experience in curriculum design, instructional design, or related roles (formal or informal).
- Experience working with children or youth is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical ideas clearly and accessibly.
- Familiarity with educational robotics platforms (e.g., VEX, LEGO), maker tools (e.g., Arduino, 3D printing), or coding is a plus.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative team.

**Employment Details**
- **Job Types**: Full-time (preferred), with potential for hybrid work.
- **Benefits**: Dental care, extended health care, paid time off.
- **Schedule**: 8-hour shift, occasional weekends for events or testing.
- **Location**: Markham, ON (L3R 5M1). Must be able to commute or relocate before starting work.

**Why Join Us?**

You will be shaping the next generation of STEM learners by building curricula that are hands-on, technically sound, and inspiring. You will work in a creative, mission-driven environment with the freedom to experiment, test, and innovate.

If you love engineering, education, and creating meaningful learning experiences, we want to hear from you.

**Application Requirements**

To be considered for this role, all applicants must submit the following materials **in addition to their resume.**

**1. Portfolio Folder**
- A shared online folder (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) containing **at least 2-3 examples** of curriculum materials, slide decks, project guides, or lesson plans you have developed.
