We are one of Vancouver Island’s only open field daycares and boarding facilities with a dedicated team of trainers to supervise the pups as they socialize, train and exercise in a safe environment. There are two - one acre grass fields that provide a great environment for dogs to explore, enjoy other dogs and play time with the trainers.

Our origins are as dog trainers in agility, herding, obedience, protection and search and rescue. This provides the dogs in our care with experienced care givers committed to their growth, mental well-being and safety

As a **part-time Hidden Acres’ daycare attendant,** you will be responsible intake/departure, care and supervision of both our daycare dogs and boarding dogs to ensure a fun, safe and healthy stay. We are looking for 2 attendants and there is the potential to move full time over the coming months.

**What does the Day to Day look like?**
- Positively and personally greeting the dogs and their dog parents,
- Intake and relay of any information related to their stay (meds, health issues etc.),
- Creating a fun, safe and engaging play experience during their stay,
- Monitoring health and wellness of the pups,
- Cleaning up after the pups and ensuring the daycare/boarding space is scrupulously clean,
- Meal prep and safe feeding of the dogs,
- Building on your dog handling and training skills in real time,

- Ability to handle a face paced, quick changing environment,
- Exceptional acumen with dogs - you genuinely care for dogs,
- Reliable and consistent - our dogs are counting on you being there,
- Exceptional track record of managing your time to get all tasks completed,
- Superb people skills with both with all 2-leggeds (team and customers),
- Cleanliness orientation - you like things clean and orderly,
- Strong physical stamina and abilities - **this is hard work and this is outside**

**Desirables**:

- Previous dog handling experiences an asset,
- Previous dog training experience an asset,
- Learner who is eager and curious to learn more about dog handling and training.
- Competitive hourly wage
- Potential to bring your dog to work and use of the large pasture to run your dog
- Additional training sessions on Saturday's
- Working with the best four legged clients on the Island

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
