About the team you are joining

Reporting to the Senior Manager FDX, GADM, the incumbent will be part of a team dealing with GADM's Flight Data eXchange Program. Key tasks are to support FDX program growth and sustainability through active engagement with the airline community, monthly data collection, quality control and analysis.

What your day would be like
- Routine analysis of downloaded flight data
- Compilation of statistical reports
- Manage ad hoc requests for analysis
- Investigate and produce reports on specific safety and operational issues
- Act as the first point of contact and maintain regular communications with a number of program participants
- Work with internal and external stakeholders including program participants to develop data analytics, that add value to the FDX program and industry
- Provide induction and continuous training and advice to our customers on FDX
- Liaise with the Software Development Team and stakeholders on the continuous improvement and development of the FDX web-based analysis platform
- Liaise with program participants and internal stakeholders on Analysis Specifications to ensure that the most appropriate safety events and thresholds are in place
- Liaise with software developers to improve safety analytics and safety event detection algorithms
- Attend industry conferences and exhibitions as required to promote the FDX program
- Provide/receive support to/from the other GADM programs according to business needs
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Senior FDX Manager
- Manage the FDX data integration and quality

We would love to hear from you if you meet the following criteria
- University degree, technical degree or equivalent, preferably in the disciplines of Engineering (mechanical, aeronautical or systems), Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics
- Minimium two (2) years of relevant operational experience in one or more the following roles: aircraft engineer, commercial pilot and/or aircraft data recording, flight safety.
- Experience in data manipulation and in FDA/FOQA is an asset
- Excellent PC skills with a sound knowledge of computer software as well as some programming experience
- Experience in Python, VBA or statistics software (SAS, R) would be an asset
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI is a must
- Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, report writing skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written; knowledge of an additional language would be an asset.
