We are excited to be adding to our talented team in Chilliwack Denbow is currently seeking an accomplished and equally talented **Controller** to join our Fraser Valley head office.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Vice President, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Oversee and lead the accounting team
- Plan, direct, and coordinate accounting operational functions for all Denbow companies
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures (including the Credit & Collections process)
- Assess current accounting operations, providing recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Oversee insurance and risk management
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the accounting software and supporting database as needed
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements including cash flow statements
- Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Manage the annual budget and forecasting process
- Maintain external banking relationships
- Efficiently and effectively manage the business’ cash flow to ensure the best return on investments
- Monitor cash flow projections and report cash position to the Management team on a weekly basis
- Oversee the Group Benefits program and work with HR to negotiate renewal rates and ensure the most appropriate coverage is in place to take care of our workforce, while maintaining costs
- Develop, monitor, maintain and review Denbow’s Group RRSP Employer Matching program, DPSP and Annual Employee and Management team Bonus plan. Review with Vice-President annually for plan effectiveness and ongoing relevance for rewarding performance and competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Responsible for the ongoing analysis and assessment of Denbow’s Fleet and Manufacturing equipment (CAPEX) replacement timeline recommendations PLUS expansion requirements
**Qualifications**
- Seven+ years of experience, including two years of supervisory responsibility
- Manufacturing and costing-related experience
- Controller or equivalent experience highly desirable
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Interested in AI opportunities in finance
- Corporate accounting experience, including yearend processes, overheads, and payroll
- Experience in forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Ability to meet and establish deadlines
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
