DESCRIPTION:
The Health Information (HI) portfolio at LH oversees the end-to-end journey from data to information, including Patient Registration, Health Records Management, Coding, Decision Support, Release of Information & Privacy services. Together, this team enables the collection, organization, standardization & protection of key health information to promote internal & provincial analyses of quality, performance, planning & to inform financial allocations.

More and more data and analytics are becoming critical parts of operations - from planning to monitoring and evaluation. At Lakeridge Health, all Clinical Programs & Services are supported by a Decision Support Consultant to support further embedding analytics & empowering our teams the information required for quality improvement & sustainability. Today, we do this with over 500 automated reports, dashboards and tools created and managed by a small, but extraordinary, team, including Decision Support Consultants, Data Engineers, Sr. Consultant and Manager. Demand continues to grow, as does the sophistication with which we operate. As such, our Analytics & Business Intelligence team is seeking a Decision Support Consultant / Epic Business Intelligence Developer to help us achieve our vision.

In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise in analytics to help us develop, implement and maintain innovative analytics solutions & practices that will meet the current and future needs of Lakeridge Health.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Decision Support Consultant / Epic Business Intelligence Developer uses their strong analytic skills and detailed content knowledge of patient-related and other hospital utilization data to support evidence-based decision making, to monitor performance against corporate and program-level goals and targets, as well as identify and evaluate trends and potential opportunities for improved health system performance. You provide support to various hospital clinical programs and the senior management team through the extraction, analysis, interpretation, presentation and dissemination of information. You will extract key data from the Epic health information system, in addition as other key data sources used by the organization. As a certified Epic Business Intelligence Developer, you will create and modify Epic reporting solutions to achieve desired output, including Dashboards, Metrics, SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, and Clarity & Caboodle SQL.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, investigate, and create reporting products and tools
- Support client needs by building or modifying existing content to their requirements
- Design and develop dashboards, reports, metrics in Epic & Power BI reporting systems
- Extract data from SQL databases, both Epic (Clarity & Caboodle) and non-Epic sources.
- Create, maintain, and enhance documentation on reporting solutions and processes.
- Attend meetings, courses, or workshops as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Undergraduate education or training in a related discipline of informatics, analytics, health sciences, administration, engineering or equivalent;
- 3 or more years of experience in data analysis, client-based consulting, and/or data management, preferably in a health care setting. Graduate-level education in a related field accepted in lieu of job-based experience.
- Detailed content knowledge and a high level of proficiency with a variety of provincial and national healthcare data sets (Wait Times, Case Costing, DAD, NACRS, OMHRS, etc.) required;
- Detailed knowledge and experience of corporate and program performance reporting;
- Knowledge of health system funding models (including knowledge of case mix groupings & quality-based procedures);
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze data using various software tools and to present information and express complex ideas clearly and effectively to a non-technical audience;
- Strong aptitude for analysis, interpretation and attention to detail;
- Knowledge and experience with analytic tools, including but not limited to Microsoft PowerBI, SQL, IntelliHealth, Folio, 3M Report Writer and Excel;
- Knowledge and experience with Epic health information system and data/reporting-related modules (Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle). Active certification or ability to achieve certification on these modules is required (Must be eligible to travel to the United States, if applicable);
