This Lab Technician position is suitable for someone with a forward thinking mindset, with experience in the candle, wax or cosmetics industry, with great communication skills who wants to grow with us.
Lab Technician Responsibilities:
- **Data Collection and Analysis**: Gathering and analyzing data from experiments, tests, and product evaluations to support product development and quality control
- **Formulation Development and Testing**: Develop and test new wax formulations for candles, hair removal wax, spa wax products, soap products and any other products offered by the company, ensuring they meet quality, performance, and safety standards.
- Adjust existing formulations to improve performance
- **Burn Test experiments**: to test wax formulations and the compatibility of fragrances, dyes, and additives with different waxes.
- **Research and Development**: Conducting research on existing products in teh market and to develop new formulations, improve existing products, and explore innovative ingredients or techniques.
- **Internal Collaboration**:Collaborate with internal teams on various projects, including but not limited to product development, third party offerings and relationships, and the creation and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) to ensure that all products meet the company’s standards and regulatory requirements.
- **Technical and Formulations Support**: Providing technical expertise to team and clients in use of products for candles, candle-making, soap-making, hair removal wax, spa wax and other products, ensuring consistency, safety, and efficacy, within the Contractor’s area of expertise and knowledge.
- **Internal Consultation**: Advising internal teams on technical matters, product improvements, and anything else within the Contractor’s area of expertise and knowledge.
- **Client Consultation**: Offering technical advice and support to clients, including custom formulation development, product troubleshooting, and answering technical inquiries. Conduct onsite visits for new clients and key clients as required, providing hands-on support for product development, formulation adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- **Quality Control and Testing**: Conducting quality control tests on raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
- **Sample Preparation**: Preparing samples for internal testing, client review, research and development or market testing, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- **Compliance and Documentation**: Ensuring all products comply with relevant regulations and standards, and maintaining accurate documentation for all lab activities and product formulations.
- **Process Optimization**: Identifying and implementing improvements in production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- **Inventory Management**:Monitoring and managing laboratory supplies, ingredients, and equipment to ensure the lab is well-stocked and operational.
- Liaise with potential clients, suppliers, customers, third parties, other departments or as required
- Work with the team to develop or innovate products and services
- Collaborate and communicate professionally with production team, customers, and others
- Maintain a clean, neat area
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
