Swamper/labourer

**SWAMPER JOB DESCRIPTION**

Incumbent in this position assists truck driver with unloading, loading. Work is mostly performed outside of the truck and involves manual labor. This is an Entry Level position.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Performs work involving lifting, pushing, pulling, securing loads with straps and/or chains as necessary.
- Assists truck driver with any tasks on or outside of the truck being operated or for the specific job assignment.
- Maintains proper housekeeping in the truck, washes tractor trailer unit in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines. If applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School Diploma, or GED, or equivalent preferred
- Comprehend and follow instructions from truck driver or other company personnel
- Interact with others in a team environment
- Work variable schedules/shifts and long hours
- Work in all types of outdoor climates and conditions
- Must be physically capable to safely carry out duties

**WAGES**

Wage is a flat rate $156.50 per day

**PROGRESSION**

The next level of progression would be to move into an entry level warehouse position. These positions have a compensation schedule for raises and additional training bonuses.

**Salary**: $15.65-$20.00 per hour
