**About the Role**

We are seeking a
**Social Worker - Family Services**
***to provide support to two programs: Support Ability and Poverty Reduction. In this role you will provide direct counseling, case management, financial assistance, and other practical and concrete services to clients using appropriate techniques and methods of social work practice.

**Responsibilities**:
**Support Ability Program**
- Provide support, advocacy and counselling to families and their special needs children and youth (ages 0-18) dealing with a variety of physical and/or developmental disabilities as part of the Support Ability Program (SAP)
- Formulate and develops client-centered service plans such as crisis interventions, internal agency response and referrals, linkages and referrals to external resources and follow up, etc
- Promote SAP within the community, including participating in community information sessions Performs outreach to community partners to enhance the Agency’s role and provide information to staff
- Advocate and supports access services including speech and language, behaviour management, residential resources when needed.
- May participate as a member of a service team, for the planning and delivery of multi-service integrated, client-centered, case coordination plans.
- Support and advocates on behalf of clients to ensure they have access to services within the Agency and in the community
- Perform psycho-social assessments of individuals and families

**Poverty Reduction Program**
- Provide clients with basic financial literacy and budgeting supports through poverty reduction methodologies
- Formulate and develop client-centered service plans related to poverty reduction (including crisis intervention, internal Agency response and referrals, etc.)
- Facilitate the provision of financial assistance based on Agency guidelines
- Assist clients with the completion of government and other relevant forms.
- Collaborate with Agency and community services in order to provide the best service for clients.
- Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- _ MSW or BSW_
- _ Minimum 3 years related clinical experience_
- _ Member of OCSWSSW in good standing_
- _ Direct experience with financial and social assistance programs and government supports._
- _ Knowledge and/or expertise in specific clinical therapeutic interventions such as brief therapy, CBT, and/or group counselling_
- _ Knowledge of Jewish community needs and resources is an asset._
- _ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills._
- _ Knowledge of French and/or another language will be considered an asset_**JF&CS has a COVID-19 vaccination policy in place. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19, unless a valid exemption under the **_Ontario Human Rights Code _**is provided.**
