**General Labourer / Shop Hand**
Hi Signs is an experiential fabricator focused on premier wayfinding systems and large-scale signage projects. Hi Signs offers design, fabrication, and installation of signage from our 55,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Edmonton.

We are currently seeking some Shop Hand/General Labourers for possible long-term employment.

As a Sign Shop Fabrication Labourer, you will assist in the production and assembly of custom signs. You will work with a variety of materials, tools, and equipment to help fabricate, finish, and prepare signage for installation. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

**Primary Responsibilities**

**Sign Fabrication & Assembly**
- Assist in cutting, assembling, and finishing signs using various hand tools and machines.
- Prepare and assemble substrates, including sanding, priming, and painting as required.
- Operate fabrication equipment.
- Ensure attention to detail in all tasks.
- Cut and prepare wood, metal, and various other materials and substrates.
- Assemble and paint fabricated products such as wood barricades.

**Vinyl Application & Screen Printing**
- Perform weeding, masking, and installation of cut and printed vinyl graphics.
- Assist in screen printing operations, including setup, ink mixing, and substrate preparation.
- Maintain and clean printing equipment and work areas.

**Shop Maintenance & Organization**
- Keep the shop area clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist in inventory counts.
- Perform snow removal and yard maintenance.
- Properly dispose of waste materials.

**Material Handling & Logistics**
- Assist in loading and unloading materials.
- Safely move large or heavy materials using forklifts, dollies, or other equipment as required.

**Installation Support**
- Assist installation teams by preparing materials, packaging, and organizing tools.
- Participate in on-site installations under the guidance of senior installers.
- Follow safety procedures while working at heights or using power tools.

**Quality Control & Safety Compliance**
- Inspect work for defects and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Follow workplace safety guidelines, including PPE requirements and WHMIS regulations.

**General Labour Duties**
- Assist with additional tasks such as shop cleaning, equipment maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Support other departments as needed.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools, including drills, saws, and routers.
- Basic understanding of measurements and material handling.
- Forklift certification (preferred but not required).
- Skid steer experience (preferred but not required).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
