Earlyon Educator

**12 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION- EARLYON EDUCATOR POSITION AVAILABLE**

Commencing - June 16, 2025

$47,776 annually based upon 35 hrs per week

Family Space Quinte Inc. is an EarlyON Lead Agency for Hastings County. EarlyON Educators are responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate programs and services for children and their families throughout a variety of early learning settings and locations in Hastings County. This is accomplished through reflective practice and embracing the four foundations of _How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years _and embracing the values of family centred practice.

EarlyON Child and Family programs and services facilitated by Family Space include the geographic areas of Belleville, Belleville East, Centre Hastings, West Trenton
- Develop and establish programs which are set up and facilitated with intention for learning, drop
- in, play-based learning environments where families can meet, share, play and feel supported and are universally accessible.
- Establish positive, responsive relationships with children and their families
- Be available to answer questions and provide specific direction on how to access various resources and services that can help them in the community, such as libraries, health care, family counselling, and children’s development programs
- Be knowledgeable and resourceful for families who need more intensive, specialized, or focused support in parenting or other assessment, screening, and intervention services.
- Offer high quality early learning programs which will embrace the Four Foundations of Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression.
- Demonstrate respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Educators will build opportunities to engage with people, places, and the natural world in the locations where programs are being offered.

**Educational Requirements**

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**
- Be knowledgeable, responsive, and reflective and participate in continuous professional learning opportunities.
- Two years’ experience in the field of Early Childhood Education.
- Experience supporting families and caregivers.
- Knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of adult education. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve outcomes.
- Experience in program planning, pedagogical documentation, and evaluation.

**Must have a clean criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screen. Must have valid Ontario Drivers License and reliable car and be willing to travel to different locations. Flexible hours will be required which will include working some evenings and weekends.**
