**Job Description**:
**PURPOSE AND SUMMARY**

The NAN Hope Virtual Care Program Coordinator works to ensure support for First Nations community members, who are served by NAN Hope/Keewaytinook Okimakanak. Under the direction of the Mental Health Supervisor, the Crisis Response Coordinator oversees the general management and supervision of the NAN Hope Virtual Care Program. The Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation of day-to-day operations of the program and will oversee the NAN Hope Virtual Care team, responsible for staffing a 24/7 crisis and distress support line for NAN community members. This role requires a dedicated professional skilled in resource navigation and program oversight, committed to providing high-quality mental health, crisis and addiction support. The Virtual Care Coordinator will guide the team in delivering immediate virtual support while facilitating access to ongoing mental health support for individuals facing challenges.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide overall case management and coordination to the Virtual Care Team and to the Wellness Navigators, Counsellors and Contractors.
- Ensure that clinical supervision needs are addressed by scheduling regular debriefing sessions, training opportunities, and providing oversight to the Wellness Navigation and Counselor Teams.
- Ensuring that all personal health information obtained by the program in the delivery of services to clients and communities remains secure, in adherence with the privacy and confidentiality policies of provincial and federal privacy legislation.
- Support any staffing requirements of the program such as participation in the hiring process, and coordination of new staff/contractor onboarding / training / performance evaluations.
- Promote the development of counselling skills/approaches though training, evaluations, and feedback. Assisting in developing best practices/creative interventions to assist community members.
- Facilitate resource navigation by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of available mental health and community support services, ensuring community members are connected to appropriate resources that address their specific needs.
- Compose qualitative and quantitative reports on a weekly, monthly, and/or annual schedule, as required by the program, its partners, and stakeholders.
- Assist in developing and implementing a program evaluation strategy, ensuring regular assessment of the program’s progress and outcomes based on the mission, vision, and goals of the program.
- Communicate with the Mental Health Program Supervisor regarding finances and approvals to ensure the program is well-resourced, progressing towards its goals, and continuing to evolve to better serve clients.
- Assist with the marketing, communication, and public relations strategy related to the program, including social media.
- Coordinate with the support department regarding all IT systems used by the program (e.g., case management system(s), chat/text platform, telephone system, etc.).
- Attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings, documenting and following up with action items as requested by the program supervisor.
- Other duties as required.

**ACCOUNTABILTY**

This position reports directly to the Mental Health Program Supervisor and all Health Staff report to the Director of Health.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- The minimum level of education acceptable is equivalent to completion of a university program (Bachelor’s degree) in a mental health, health, social, or related discipline.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team in the effective delivery of crisis, mental health, or addictions support services.
- Proficient with technology; ability to navigate, effectively use and train others on multiple IT systems, with a high proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong ability to navigate community resources and maintain a database for use by front-line workers.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain supportive, respectful, and trusting relationships with colleagues, internal and external teams, clients, etc.
- Experience working with complex cases, concurrent disorders, trauma, high-risk behaviours etc.
- Sound knowledge of Indigenous culture and diversity and the principal issues affecting the mental health and holistic wellness of First Nations children, families, and communities.
- Sound knowledge of the positive traditional influences that could promote mental health and wellness of First Nations individuals, families and communities.
- Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, including time, project, and documentation management.
- Experience working with First Nations Individuals, families or communities; experience working in remote / fly-in First Nations communities.
- Ability to understand or speak one of the NAN First Nations languages would
