In June 2023, the Town Antigonish and the Municipality of the County of Antigonish developed a Tourism Strategy for the area. This plan outlines a bold vision to enhance the visitor experience, support local businesses, and promote the natural and cultural heritage of Antigonish. By leveraging the unique attributes of the area, the goal is to position Antigonish as a premier travel destination within Nova Scotia and beyond.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to be our inaugural Tourism Director. The role of the Tourism Director for the Antigonish Tourism Association is pivotal in bringing this strategic vision to life. The job requires a dynamic individual who can lead the tourism organization with passion and innovation. This person will drive the execution of the strategic plan, ensuring each objective is met with the highest standards of excellence.
Key responsibilities will include developing a budget and marketing plan and then overseeing the implementation of marketing initiatives, nurturing partnerships, and spearheading efforts to enhance the visitor experience. The Tourism Director will work closely with local businesses and community groups to develop and promote events, cultural attractions, and natural sites that highlight the best of what Antigonish has to offer.
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
