**PURCHASING/RECEIVING/SHIPPING AGENT JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Summary**:
The Purchasing Agent will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Receiving Agent will receive all goods to the organizational policies and procedures. Shipping Agent will be able to organize the shipping of all products that the organization manufactures based on the policies and procedures of the company.

**_Supervisory Responsibilities: _**
- None.

**_Duties/Responsibilities: _**
- Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Receive all materials and product coming into the organization
- Scan and save MTR’s in database
- Make up bill of ladings for the trucking companies
- Import export documents
- Working with our importing and exporting company

**_Required Skills/Abilities: _**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
- Thorough understanding of receiving procedures and policies.
- Thorough understanding of shipping procedures and policies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

**_Education and Experience: _**
- Experience is an asset.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Drivers class 5 license is a must.
- Clean drivers abstract is an asset.

**_Physical Requirements: _**
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 KG at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
- Must be able to walk around shop and yard.

**_Hours of employment: _**
- Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with the odd exception of staying late.

**_Salary terms: _**
- Hourly pay to be determined by experience and job review.
