**Position Summary**:
A survey of Art Song Literature and Diction. The goal of this course is to discover diction, literature, cultural context and performance practice for the study of English song, including English-language musical theatre, and American, Italian and Spanish song, and may include selective Slavic-language Art Song. This experiential course is for singers and collaborative pianists. This course develops an understanding of collaborative music making through performance and fluency of language with International Phonetic Alphabet.
**Qualifications - Required**: MMus in Voice or Collaborative Piano Performance or equivalent (significant national/international performing career as singer or collaborative pianist for voice; has taught similar course at U level at least twice); evidence in CV of proficiency in IPA and language training for singers/collab. pianists. Demonstrated ability to teach both singers and pianists (understanding of performance needs of both) as evidenced in CV.
