**THE OPPORTUNITY**

**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Nest Program Manager, the Cook is responsible for carrying out the tasks in preparing and serving food to residents of the Phoenix Society.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Set up, clean and organize workstations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare ingredients for the day; wash, chop and season meat, vegetables, etc.
- Prepare and cook menu items according to nutritional standards
- Handle multiple food orders at one time
- Store and dispose of any food properly
- Ensure sufficient stock and inventory of food, supplies and equipment
- Sanitize and clean workstations and kitchen supplies
- Comply with health and safety and sanitation standards
- Ensure that food high quality food is distributed in a timely fashion

**THE CANDIDATE**

**Qualifications**:

- Education/Experience: High School diploma and at least three years prior kitchen experience would be an asset.
- Fluent and able to effectively communicate professionally, orally and written in English.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable populations.
- Proven interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively with other team members and colleagues.
