**Job Summary Statement**:
The Material Handler - Team Lead at the Brimich Group operates material handling equipment, ships, receives and records the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from our warehouse facilities in addition to providing front line support the Warehouse Supervisor through execution of daily workloads, aide in new-hire training and assisting in making procedures efficient.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:

- Ensures that all safety regulations with regards to the safe operation of the MHE (including pre-shift inspection) and safe handling of materials are adhered to.
- Stages and prepares shipments in accordance with the shipping schedule and daily shipping instructions.
- Assists the shift supervisor in executing delegated work and provides absence relief for vacation and sick time
- Accurately labels and scans shipments
- Audits the condition of each shipment prior to loading. Ensures trucks are loaded properly and safely.
- Ensures all shipments leave on time with the necessary documentation.
- Sends ASNs (advance shipping notice) to customer with customers which this procedure applies to.
- Performs tasks and responsibilities as detailed in Brimich policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Keeps shipping packaging and stock areas organized and neat and manages stock rotation (first in first out)
- Receives incoming packaging materials returned from customers and stores it in a neat and orderly fashion. Records receipt.
- Take initiative to assist regular inventory audits as well as spot checks, as required.
- Performs backup duties (i.e. receiving, admin) as required.
- Keeps work area clean and safe. Creates additional space by effectively storing materials.
- Treats everyone with dignity, trust and respect.
- Follows the guidelines and rules as set out by the Employee’s Handbook and company policies.
- Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.
- Complies with the designated HACCP responsibilities related to effective environmental management in accordance with Brimich HACCP Program.
- Communicates to management when incoming loads arrive without proper documentation/paperwork
- Oversee and answer questions pertaining to order information
- Reports any damages to the facility or to customer/company property to management.
- Always wears prescribed Personal Protective Equipment
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor or management.

**Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies**:

- Valid lift truck driver license in Counterbalance and/or Swing Reach
- Grade 12 High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-4 years related experience
- Able to speak, read and write in English
- Computer skills include use of MRP system (ASN, Scan, Shipment/receipt entry)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good attendance record
- Assigns the highest priority to customer satisfaction while meeting commitments to achieve business objectives.
- Creates a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
- Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business.
- Capable of safe heavy lifting

- Leading daily work orders and delegating tasks as per the Warehouse Supervisor
- Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius in most Brimich Warehouses. Brimich Cold Storage buildings may range from 0 degrees Celsius to -30 degrees Celsius.

**Health and Safety**
- Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
- Understands and works in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations.
- **Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2°C to 15°C in most Brimich Warehouses. Brimich Cold Storage buildings may range from 0°C to -30 °C.**:
