The Manager of Quality is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members. The Manager of Quality is responsible for the planning, coordinating and supervising activities that support the safe and effective delivery of care to residents. As a member of the management team, the Manager of Quality reports to the Executive Director.
As a Manager of Quality, your typical day will impact the following ways:
- Direct care delivery teams based on clearly defined lines of authority and communication.
- Work alongside the nursing team members to ensure that identified care processes are in place to effectively deliver care in accordance with a residents individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate and lead in the implementation and monitoring of required programs.
- Assist in the development of annual quality improvement plans.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional and leadership team on health authority inspections reports ensuring accuracy and completeness of action plans.
- Identify department learning opportunities and work closely with the team to make provisions for appropriate education to support program delivery.
- Collaborate with Department Managers to provide team members with regular feedback regarding quality of resident care through the continuous performance process.
- Assist in the development, monitoring, and evaluation of staffing patterns in accordance with budgets.
- Utilize evidence based practice in all aspects of the job.
- Partner with the Director of Care, ensuring nursing practices align with the College of Nurses.
- Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Monitor procurement and supply control procedures to ensure timely availability of resources.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Must haves:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in clinical nursing in seniors care.
- Current registration with the provincial College of Nurses.
- Willingness to upgrade and maintain personal and educational qualifications as required by the changing demands of the job.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
