**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring safety is a priority to self, coworkers, the public, and the assets of the company and following policies and procedures set out by the company
- A daily walk-around inspection of the machine, general housekeeping of the machine, and minor repairs when necessary to ensure safe operation
- Daily administration of logbooks and work reports
- Compliance with track rules and instructions according to CROR
- Assist with manual labor when needed
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and managers
- Meet productivity level mandates set out by the supervisor or manager
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Ontario driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Experience operating one or more track or hi-railed machines such as but not limited to the Spiker, Speed Swing, Regulator, TRIPP, Excavator, etc.
- High school or GED
- DZ Class License
- Must be able to pass all required training, background check, and drug & alcohol testing.
- Previous rail experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Willing to work overtime and be on call
- Basic mechanical aptitude is required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- Previous Railroad experience is an asset
- Familiarity with Canadian Rail Operating Rules; Current Certification is an asset, but not required
- Crane Fundamentals or similar certification
- Experience with grapple attachments
- Good hand and eye coordination
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal
**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
**Experience**:
- crane: 1 year (preferred)
- Boom truck: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Air Brake Endorsement (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 75% (required)
