Under the direction and supervision of the civil supervisor you will be responsible for installing underground conduit, manholes, and pilasters, while delivering exceptional customer service going above and beyond on every call.

The Civil Labourer works outdoors in all weather conditions, often performing tasks in confined spaces and in trenches; experience and knowledge in these areas is an asset.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Provide exceptional customer experience in all inter-actions, in a polite professional courteous manner
- Driving with care and attention and following all posted signage on route to all job locations.
- Working in a variety of weather conditions, you will fully document work with the support of photos and related forms.
- Handling with care and being accountable to maintain all company tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Having flexibility to work later than scheduled to complete work orders that are in high demand for completion.
- Safety Conscious and able to adhere to an intensely structured safety program

**Skills Required**:

- Experience operating everyday hand and power tools safely and confidently
- Maintain a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license and provision of a clean driver’s abstract (within the last 6 months)
- Physically fit enough to lift and carry 70lbs
- Can perform duties in many challenging environments including outdoors, from heights and in confined spaces
- Prior experience in telecommunications industry working for Telus and or Shaw is an asset
- A strong technical aptitude and general interest in the field; must enjoy working with technology
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-organized with the ability to prioritize and balance workloads without oversight

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Non-tainted Class 5 Driver’s License, class 3 with air is an asset
- Safety Conscious Attitude with a Customer Focus Personality
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Exceptional cleanliness and organization Standards
- Previous experience working in an outdoor environment independently
- Ability to manage a physically demanding position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and working at heights and in confined spaces
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be willing to travel to various locations
- Self-motivated, ability to prioritize and organize workloads
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in the industry
- Criminal Background check and a Drivers Abstract will be required upon hiring
- Having the following Safety Certifications is an asset but not necessary:

- Confined spaces certificate
- Aerial Lift certificate
- WHMIS and Power Awareness certification are assets
- Defensive driving certification
- First Aid Level 1
- Traffic control, TCP/TMP

**Experience**:

- civil construction: 2 years (preferred)
- telecom: 2 years (preferred)
