**Merchandise Planning Director**

**RESPONSABILITIES**:

- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise planning strategies aligned with company objectives and financial targets.
- Lead an interdisciplinary team of planners, market analysts, and data professionals to analyze historical data, market trends, and customer insights to forecast demand and identify sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including buying, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment and cohesion in merchandise planning activities.
- Manage open-to-buy budgets and inventory levels to optimize stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting tools to develop accurate sales, margin, and inventory plans by category, season, and location.
- Drive assortment planning initiatives to ensure the right mix of products that meet customer demands and drive sales growth.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance metrics such as sell-through, stock-to-sales ratios, and gross margin to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
- Continuously evaluate market dynamics, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to adapt merchandise strategies accordingly.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on insights derived from merchandise planning analyses.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Finance, or related field.
- Proven track record of at least seven (7) years in merchandise planning, with experience in retail or e-commerce environments.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to mentor and develop talent.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence decision-making.
- Proficiency in merchandise planning software and tools as well as the Microsoft Office suite. Expert level is Excel is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of retail math concepts, inventory management principles, and retail operations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving business growth through effective merchandise planning strategies.
- Strong business acumen and a customer-centric approach to merchandise assortment planning.
